Shabbat

Friday Evening Services

Shabbat Evening Services at Congregation sanctuary Or Chadash are lively, warm, and personal. Erev Shabbat services are held on Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m except the last Friday of each month, when services are held at 6:30pm. While children are welcome at all services, the second Friday of the month is a family service geared specifically toward the children. Our music teacher Roxanne Schueller leads the singing and engages the children with her wonderful enthusiasm.

Periodically, we also schedule services with special themes such as a New and Prospective Member Shabbat, a Disability Awareness Shabbat, a Sermon in Song Shabbat, CORY creative services led by our youth group, Holiday Celebration Shabbatim when holidays fall on Shabbat and more.

Shabbat Morning Services

Shabbat morning services are held whenever we have a bar or bat mitzvah. These dates can be found on the temple calendar. The service starts at 10am with the bar or bat mitzvah leading the service.

Rabbi Kobey holds Torah study weekly. It is held at 10am if there is no Shabbat morning service and at 8:30am if there is a service. The torah portion and topics of discussion are listed on our calendar.

Sunrise Shabbat for babies and toddlers baby

Sunrise shabbat morning services are held once a month on Saturday morning at 8:30. This program is geared toward children under age 4 and their families. It includes breakfast along with music, crafts, stories and play.  The dates can be found on the temple calendar. There is no cost, but please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
