Religious education is an important aspect of our congregation life. We offer religious school from Pre-K through 12th grade, Hebrew school from 4th to 7th grade, an outstanding post-b'nai mitzvah program through confirmation, and adult education. In our religious education program children and adults learn about our religion and heritage while they explore new ideas and meet other Jewish people.
We have an active youth group for boys and girls in 8th grade and higher that is affiliated with the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY).There is also a junior youth group for students in grades 6-7 .
We have a Brotherhood, a Sisterhood, a PTO and a Social Action Committee that is involved in food drives to aid the homeless, running blood drives, assisting hospitalized children, and other activities. Social events range from art auctions to holiday parties to guys and gals nights out.
The goal of Congregation Or Chadash is to meet the spiritual, educational and social needs of our members within a Reform Jewish context. We are a family-oriented congregation dedicated to providing the best religious programming in a caring and friendly atmosphere. We welcome all people, including interfaith families, who wish to bring Judaism into their lives and become active members of the Jewish Community.
